On Thursday, March 6, 2025, NUGS-USA marked Ghana’s 68th Independence Day with an educational initiative in Kwaso, a community in the Ejisu Municipal Assembly in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The event, held at Ejisu-Kwaso at 7:00 AM, was organized in collaboration with the Ghana Education Service – Ejisu District to provide students with essential learning materials and encourage academic excellence.
As part of this effort, we donated vital school supplies, including exercise books, pens, pencils, and other classroom essentials, to students in selected schools within Kwaso. By equipping young learners with the resources they need, we aim to reduce barriers to education and support their academic progress.
This initiative is in line with NUGS-USA’s Goal 5: Strengthen Awareness and Connection to Ghanaian Heritage. As Ghanaians studying abroad, we recognize the importance of giving back to our communities and reinforcing ties between the Ghanaian diaspora and the next generation in Ghana. Through programs like this, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting education and preserving our shared identity.
The event included interactions between students, teachers, and community leaders, creating an atmosphere of encouragement and motivation. Teachers and school administrators expressed their gratitude for the support, emphasizing the positive impact of such efforts on student performance and learning experiences.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our sponsors, Collinx Artistry, Pizzaman Chicken Man, and JK, whose generosity made this project possible. Their commitment to education and youth development played a significant role in ensuring the success of this initiative.
At NUGS-USA, we believe that investing in education is investing in the future. We encourage others to join us in ensuring that every student has access to the tools needed for success.
