This week, I had the honor, as President of the National Union of Ghana Students – USA, to meet H.E. Hajia Alima Mahama, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States in Washington D.C. I was joined by H.E. Oppong Kyeremeh Daniel, National President of the Union, along with other delegates from the National Union of Ghana Students, as we discussed key initiatives to support Ghanaian students studying across the U.S.

With a 31.6% increase in Ghanaian student enrollment from 2022 to 2023, Ghana ranks among the top countries sending international students to the U.S. Our newly established NUGS-USA chapter now offers educational resources, career counseling, and community support for these students.

Ambassador Mahama’s commitment to our goals strengthens our ability as a union to build a supportive network and address the unique challenges students face as they pursue academic and professional success in the U.S.
